It has only been a week after her visit to the springs, but it appears that her pokemon team is almost ready! She can't believe her luck, but it was only with the generous help of others that she managed to come this far. But! It is still not the time to relax yet, she still has one more weakness to cover, and that would be something against water type! Yes, she thought about it long and hard, countless sleepless nights before she can come to a decision, but she has finally decided on the last member of her team! (At least until her eevee gets stronger in battle)

-Big reveal-

She has decided to go for a Dedenne, the cute little mouse would provide coverage against both the water type and fighting type with its dual typing and it looks super cute too! The little mouse is rumored to roam around the Larkspur Prairie, a beautiful flower field that is suited not only for seeking pokemon but for sight seeing as well! So it was a double plus that she came here. Before coming into the prairie, Stella bought some bread from the local baking shop and laid some bread crumb around a flower patch.

She lays on the ground and tries very hard to hid among the tall flowers, waiting for a pokemon to appear.

*sniff sniff* For a moment, he thought he caught a strange scent in the breeze. He froze, nose in the air, but the scent had disappeared. He shrugged and continued, hopping through the tall prairie grass on his way. He was to meet his friends back at the tunnel entrance with the nuts and berries he had collected. His short stubby arms were as full as he could manage, and if he landed the wrong way he might drop it all. Carefully, he bounced back and forth through the grass, landing each step gracefully and confidently.

Briefly, he looked down at the ground to check his footing once more, and a combination of strange colors in front of him caused him to halt. He slid to a stop against the dry dirt floor, and immediately his heart dropped to his stomach. The familiar scent from earlier filled his nostrils and a chill ran down his spine. A human. She was laying on the ground directly in front of him, looking straight at him. The nuts and berries in his arms fell to the ground as his arms became weak. Oh no, was all his brain managed to put together in this moment.

Dedenne wasn't sure what to do. The human had obviously seen him, she was staring right at him. He could try to run, but who knows how far he'd get if the trainer attempted to chase him. He could face her aggressively, puff up his chest and turn on the sparks and hope she wants nothing to do with him. Or, he could play harmless and hope she showed him mercy and let him go. All of these thoughts ran through his mind at once. He hadn't run into a human before, he had only heard stories from his friends and family, so he didn't know what to expect or how to react. Instead of reacting, he stood there frozen with wide eyes and a sweat bead on his forehead.

A Wild Dedenne appeared!

Stella waited in the tall flowers for a pokemon to appear, to be honest, she hadn't really thought about what she was going to do once a pokemon did show up, she guessed that she was going to challenge it to a battle, it would have been the normal thing to do...but what she hadn't been expecting was for the pokemon to saw her first. The yellow mouse pokemon stared at her from against the tall flowers, it was so surprised that it even dropped some of its berries, the element of surprise was clearly no longer with her.

What...what am I supposed to do in this situation....? If this was another trainer, having crossed path meant for a trainer's duel right...?

Right...!

It was a Debenne after all!! The exact pokemon that Stella was looking for, she had to capture it somehow and have it join her team! Stella reached for one of her pokeball and sent out her eevee, it would have been its second battle, let's all do our best!

The little fox pokemon jumped out of its pokeball and landed on the field.

"Eevee! Use yawn!"

The little fox pokemon let out a big yawn.

(p.s. the Debenne is cute lol. I have to fight it so that my eevee can level up, otherwise, i would have tried to befriend it.)

Just as he feared, the trainer leaped into action. Despite the surprised expression on her face, she still took the offensive and sent out one of her own pokémon to defend her. A short fluffy feline-like pokémon burst from the pokéball and landed on the ground between them. Dedenne shivered with fear. He wanted to take off running so badly, but he also knew his round little body was slow and he wouldn't get very far. He frowned, his lower lip quivering slightly.

The trainer spoke up immediately following the Eevee's appearance, shouting out an attack order. It'll all happened so fast for Dedenne he couldn't even remember what she commanded her pokémon to do. The fluffy pokémon opened its mouth big and wide, letting out a dramatic yawn. Dedenne cocked his head to the side and squinted, unsure what that was all about. Was she trying to intimidate him? She just got here, how could she be bored already?

Dedenne shrugged and clenched his fists. If it was a fight she wanted, a fight she would get. Angry now, he kicked the nuts and berries out of the way and fell down to all fours. A low grumble began to emanate from his throat as static began to build up in his whiskers. Tiny sparks began to sizzle at the tips. "Dede!!" he cried, charging up electricity and releasing it forward. His electricity was his strength, and if he couldn't run away he'd have to do best with what he had.

As the electricity left his whiskers and shot forth towards his opponent, he began to feel tired. It was as if that attack took everything out of him. Why was he so tired all of a sudden? It was early in the day, and he had slept fine last night. His muscles began to weaken and his eyelids felt heavy. Did he pick the wrong kind of berry or something? He was always so careful not to pick anything poisonous or... the world around him grew dark. His body slowly lowered to the ground and he lay flat on his stomach. His eyes reluctantly closed, no matter how hard he tried to fight it, and suddenly he was out like a light.

Dedenne grew drowsy.
Dedenne used Thunder Wave!
Dedenne fell asleep.

(No worries! Keep in mind though, Eevee only gets the battle credit if she defeats the Dedenne. If you catch the Dedenne, it doesn't count as a battle credit, so you have to decide if you'd rather get the experience for Eevee or catch the Dedenne ^.^)

Stella watched the battle as it unfolded in front of her very eyes, the Yawn appeared to have connected with the Dedenne, however, it will take sometime before the Dedenne fall asleep. According to the pokemon battle guide book, a freeze or sleep pokemon is easier to catch, but she didn't want to take any chances. There's still time to land one more attack before she tried the pokeball.

But the Dedenne was not going down without a fight either, in between the time that Yawn landed and before he fell asleep, the small mouse pokemon counterattacked with Thunderwave. An electric attack without much damage but could paralysis an opponent. The eevee's reaction was instant, without being told what to do, she tried to dodge by leaping into the air, but was still caught by the thunderwave.

"Eevee! Use bite!" Stella ordered her pokemon to attack again, even if the pokemon is paralysed, it did not guarantee that the pokemon cannot move this turn, sometimes pokemon can power through a status effect by strong will alone.

The eevee ground her teeth and tried to attack, but her body will not obey her commands, she stood on the ground unmoved.

Stella frowned at that, well, luck was not on her side this time around, however, that did not mean that she should give up. She still had to try the pokeball.

Now that the Dedenne fell asleep, Stella throw a pokeball at it.

Whatever happened after the Dedenne dosed off, he didn't care. It didn't matter! He was fast asleep in the best, deepest, most wondrous sleep he'd ever experienced. All of the worries of his daily life and routine were lost in the darkness. He hadn't a care in the world! A soft snore began to echo from his nose and a small bead of drool appeared at the edge of his lips. At each exhale the drop shivered against his warm breath. He dreamed of wide open fields full of flowers and all of the nuts and berries he could stuff in his little cheeks.

Not even the tap of the pokéball against his head woke him up. He didn't even feel it, or the suction as he was drawn inside it. He was bouncing around the field, chomping on this berry and that seed. Butterfree and Beautifly flew high in the sky above him. A female Dedenne approached him with a large smile, and planted a soft kiss on his cheek. His face grew red with blush before two little young Dedenne came out of the grass playing tag. It was his family! He was back home with them! Oh, this day could not have gone better.

1... 2... 3... ding!

The wild Dedenne was captured!

Stella Marnath
(Sorry that was so short! But I figured a bronze tier pokemon that was fast asleep stood no chance. XD The next one will be longer, promise!)

Stella pumped her fist into the air!! That was wonderful news! Yet another victory for team Stella! And that was the last of her main focus team, now all she had to do was to train them into the proper fighting level (isn't that the hard part though...). The path to victory road might be a long and harsh journey, but at least she is now equipped with a team. The next step might have been harder, and there might be more difficult battles down the road, but she firmly believed that as long as they don't give up and keeps fighting on. The road ahead is not impossible!

But right now, a short trip to the pokemon center is necessary to heal up eevee from her status effect, and she would have to come up with a nickname for the new Dedenne too, so much stuff to do, so little time. Off from another victory, Stella and her pokemon left the Prairie.

-The End-
