While clubs weren't his normal hangout, Vex was relatively at ease as he leaned against the bar and watched the dancers. He was a bit early for his gym challenge and was sipping at a glass of water while he waited. He'd been tempted by the alcohol, sure, but right before a gym battle wasn't a good time to be drinking. So he'd opted for water while he waited. Given the press of people in the club, he didn't have any of his pokemon out just yet. He knew which ones he was planning on using and their pokeballs were strategically clipped so that he could reach them the easiest. Of course, depending on the exact pokemon he encountered, he might change his strategy and need to use a pokemon he wasn't planning on using. After watching the start of Adrian's battle a few days prior (he'd left before Adrian called his first pokemon, he'd decided it would be unfair to watch beyond that considering he was also challenging the gym), he knew what to expect of the battle and had done his best to prepare his pokemon for battling under the conditions of the gym.

He was, he supposed, as confident as he could be about this battle. Which wasn't nearly as confident as he'd been when he'd challenged Jamie. He'd had the type advantage then, at least against two of her gyms types, and he'd still almost lost. This time, he knew his fire types were strong against steel so he wasn't quite as worried about them, but electric and normal he wasn't as prepared for. But he also wasn't at quite as much of a disadvantage as he had been against Jamie's rock type pokemon. It would be an interesting battle, win or lose.

He spotted Youngjae approaching through the crowd and straightened, setting his water aside and stepping forward slightly to meet the gym leader. "So we meet again. Never imagined the radio DJ I met a week into my stay in Eden would end up being one of the gym leaders I'd face in battle." Granted, Jae was newly appointed but still. Vex apparently had funny luck with meeting Gym leaders before challenging them. He just hoped he'd prepared a strategy that would win him this battle and his second gym badge.

If there was a gym battle Jae was looking forward to, this was it.

Avoiding the crowded dance floor, Jae took the longer (but far faster) route along the sides of the club. Though the challenger for the battle tonight had arrived ahead of schedule, it was no excuse to make him wait any longer than necessary.

There he was! Jae’s face lit up as he broke into a smile. Waving at the familiar figure, he hastened his footsteps. It was always a joy to meet someone familiar, and it clearly showed in his body language. For now, he wasn’t the cool, suave and charismatic leader of the Ironwood Gym, but the more relaxed and casual Youngjae that Vexel had met in the radio booth. Jae’s attire – a flashy black and red military inspired outfit with gold trims and accessories – only served to strengthen that dissonance.

“Vexel, it’s great to see you again,” he greeted his challenger enthusiastically. “In my defence, when I said we’d meet again, this wasn’t what I had in mind at all,” he replied with an innocent shrug. “I thought I’d be the one to show you in and bring you to the gym leader.” And grinning impishly, he added, “Though I suppose I got the second part right still.”

The grin faded, replaced with a sincere smile. “I hope I don’t sound like a stalker… but I’ve been keeping up on your progress since the radio interview. Congratulations on earning the Compass Badge.” Every gym leader has his or her own way of working around type disadvantages and coming up with creative way to best express each type’s uniqueness and strengths. “Even with the type advantage, it wasn’t an easy fight, was it?” he asked.

((OOC: I noticed Ixen has evolved into a Charizard. Should I be expecting a mixed-tier battle?))

Vex returned the wave and smile with his own. It was a rather unique situation, he thought,
being on friendly terms with the gym leader. Usually the gym leader was a stranger, someone you'd never met before. You didn't share pleasantries with them before the battle aside from polite greetings and acknowledgement of the challenge you were both about to face. It had been the same with Jamie, to a degree. They'd shared a bit of friendly banter during their battle but that was it. And then they'd gone out to lunch together afterward. He could count Jamie as a friend, even though she was also a gym leader he'd faced and defeated in battle. "Don't think it makes you special. I met Jamie before I challenged her too. We actually had lunch together, though she neglected to mention she was the recently assigned gym leader. I didn't learn that until I got there." He said, giving the gym leader a grin. "Seems I've got a unique brand of luck when it comes to meeting the gym leaders I'm going to challenge prior to challenging them." He added with a laugh and a shrug. He still had three other gyms to challenge that he had not met the leaders of, but he'd just have to see how things went. There was no telling what might happen between now and when they challenged those gyms.

Vex feigned a look of shock when Jae mentioned he'd been keeping up on Vex's progress. "You have? Say it isn't so! I thought I could trust you and now you're stalking me!" He said, tone light and a bit over-dramatic before he laughed and shook his head. "In all seriousness, though, it's fine. I'm sure you're not the only one keeping track of my progress. And you're right. It was a hard won battle. I was overconfident and forgot to take precautions against the rock types of the gym." He'd been close to losing and he'd have felt like the region's biggest fool if he'd lost against a gym with a primary type disadvantage to his fire pokemon. "I'm hoping I'm a bit better prepared this time." He wasn't at quite as much of a disadvantage here, though it was possible the gym pokemon had moves that would be effective against his team. And he wouldn't find that out until the battle started.

"Alas…" Jae sighed dramatically with mock despair, before he broke into laughter and dropped the act. "But on a more serious note, when and how did you find out that I was the new gym leader?" After all, he had only been recently appointed, and the news hadn't spread that quickly either as far as he knew.

Vexel's knack for meeting newly-appointed gym leaders before their battles was quite an improbable coincidence. "How about this: if you can continue this trend for the third time, I'll treat you to a drink."

"To be fair, you're the first Pokémon trainer on the show who expressed interest in challenging the Eden League." He was being completely honest here, though his tone was laced with feigned exasperation as he played along with Vexel. "We're actually thinking of a follow-up interview to see how far you've progressed, provided you're keen on coming back on the radio show."

He nodded thoughtfully as Vexel recounted his battle against Jamie. Even with a type disadvantage, every gym leader would have his or her own strategies to hold up against their challengers to properly test their strength. "I'm hoping you are too, because I'm not going to go easy on you," he said as he pointed to the Vinyl Badge that he wore as a lapel pin. "I want to see you shine on stage tonight, both as a gym leader and a friend."

(A mixed-tier battle might open up a few options and combinations I never considered. Please let me know if you're going ahead with it, so I can send out a second Pokémon of the appropriate tier if my lead faints or gets switched out?)

Vex smiled in an 'all knowing' way and gave a shrug. "If I told you, then I'd have to kill you." He said with a smirk, before simply laughing and gesturing toward the hostess table that also doubled as the gym registration. "I came to register as a challenger the same night you battled Adrian. I stuck around to watch for a bit. It's quite an arena you've got here." He said, motioning toward the dance floor. "And before you ask, I left before Adrian called out his first pokemon. I just wanted to get an idea of how the battle would feel, being held in an active nightclub. So no, I don't know what sort of pokemon you have or their movesets." The only thing he'd learned that had been particularly useful was that it was loud, and he had worked with his pokemon to overcome the distractions of the crowd and the music.

Vex hmm'd thoughtfully at the promise of a drink if his weird string of luck concerning the gym leaders kept up. "I'll hold you to that. Do I need proof? Or will you take my word for it?" Either way, he doubted his luck would hold. Two gym leaders in a row was bad enough, a third would just be a bit much, especially since the rumor mill was circulating that the gym he planned to head to next, was also getting a new leader. His train of thought was interrupted as Youngjae spoke again. "Really? Do you not get many league challengers in Eden? I thought that was pretty standard for most trainers. Seems like everyone in Johto who was of the appropriate age came through my dad's gym." He questioned, distracted from his teasing by that information. He'd battled many of the Johto trainers in his role as a gym trainer and during his travels through the region. "I'd love to come back on the show. You've got my contact information, just let me know when you need me to be there." A second interview would be fun.

As Jae spoke again, a spark of determination shone in Vex's eyes. "I'd be disappointed if you did. As a gym leader's son, I expect the gym leaders to be tougher on me than they would be on anyone else." Because he had the experience of training alongside the toughest gym leader in the Johto league. Of course, not all of the gym leaders here would know who he was unless they were originally from the Johto/Kanto region or did their research on him prior to his challenge. "Well, I hope I live up to your expectations." And his own and those of his father and everyone who looked up to him. No pressure, right?

Youngjae Hyun

(Sure thing! And mixed tier does sound fun so I'm happy to go that way. And, to be perfectly honest, having Jae surprise Vex by switching out for a different tier pokemon will make me rethink my strategy, lol. So I say sure, let's go for a mixed-tier battle. Will be funtimes. Let's see if Vex can win this one or if he'll have to train more and then come back. ;D)

Vexel’s words confirmed one of Jae suspicions: the fire specialist had been in the gym that day. He had thought that he mistook someone else for Vexel, but apparently that was not the case. “I’m actually not that worried about you finding out about my team,” he replied a matter-of-factly. “Sooner or later, every challenger who walks in would know exactly what he or she is up against. It is my job to make my strategy as watertight as possible. Or in your case, fireproof,” he added that last bit with a little laugh.

“I am a little sad that you’ve already seen the arena though,” he remarked ruefully. “I was hoping to make a strong first impression.” But his first statement wasn’t entirely true, as Vexel would realise in due time.

Jae’s little wager was positively received by Vexel. “I’ll take your word for it, but I have my sources too,” he grinned, hiding the fact that the only way for him to confirm Vexel’s account would be to ask the other gym leader.

Vexel seemed surprised that he had been the first League challenger out of all of Jae’s interviewees. That was perfectly understandable: the production team had been searching in vain for a League challenger who was willing to appear on the show. “Well… we did find quite a number of League challengers, but most of them were too shy.” He gave a resigned shrug. “But we’re used to it already, so all we can do is to search harder.”

A smile returned to his face when Vexel indicated his interest in a second interview. “We’ll definitely get in touch with you soon,” he said. “But not before you earn a couple more badges.”

The spark of determination that Jae saw in Vexel’s eyes during their radio interview was back again, and presumably that was the same spark that Vexel had seen in Ixen. “And I hope I live up to your expectations as a gym leader too.” He smiled, but this time he was no longer the relaxed radio deejay that Vexel had known, but the confident and charismatic gym leader that Jae aspired to be.

“Shall we?”
he invited, tilting his head towards the centre of the dance floor where the hidden arena was.

Vex shrugged at the gym leader's words. "Be that as it may, I feel like it gives me a bit of an unfair advantage over the gym. Watching you fight would have given me a better idea of your battle style and strategies which would help me better prepare to counter anything you might throw at me." Granted, it may not be a huge advantage, but it still felt a bit like cheating. "Well, they won't find out from me. I'm not going to be handing out information on the gyms to anyone. Keeping gym secrets is sort of natural to me." He finished with a small laugh. "Fireproof he says. I'm not so sure that's possible, especially with steel type pokemon. That's their biggest weakness." And he intended to take advantage of that if he could.

Vex gave a small shrug at the comments about the arena. "I'm certain watching from the crowd is a far different experience than being 'on stage', so to speak. And don't first impressions usually only occur well...the first time you actually meet someone?" He mused, nodding as Jae confirmed that he'd take Vex's word for things. Of course, Vex was aware all the gym leader really had to do was contact the other gym leader to make sure Vex wasn't lying. Not that he'd lie anyway but it was a pretty big deterrent.

Too shy? It made a bit of sense, Vex supposed, but appearing on a radio show seemed a lot less stressful than battling in front of a live crowd who would react to your every move. Of course, some people might just not want to take the time out of their training or didn't feel like a good role model or that their story was interesting enough to be told on a radio show. But for him to have been the first still seemed odd. "I guess radio isn't for everyone. But it just seems a bit unbalanced that every challenger your team has reached out to has refused." He said with a shrug. "I'm sure they had their reasons, of course." He nodded with a smile as the DJ continued. "Sounds good. I think after this I'm going to head back to Wisteria and see about challenging the leader there." Or possibly Hinoki. He hadn't decided yet. He had to earn his Vinyl Badge first.

Vex nodded to Jae's words. Vex expected a tough battle and he was sure Jae would give him one. He smirked at the invitation to battle. "For a second I expected you to end that with the word 'dance'." He said, hand touching the pokeballs he had clipped to a cuff on his left wrist. One held Ixen, the other held Drissi, his two closest partner pokemon. His first pokemon, and the one who'd changed everything. He let his hand drop, brief moment of nervousness gone. "I'm ready when you are. Lead the way."

Jae gave a mirthless laugh despite Vexel’s promise to keep his knowledge to himself. “You’re the minority, sadly.” There were plenty of trainers who had observed Casey’s battles before challenging the Ironwood Gym to better their chances of winning. It did not help that gym battles here were conducted in full view of the public, so the only way “Still, I appreciate the thought. Thank you.”

Vexel’s opinion that fire was the greatest weakness of steel-types made perfect sense, and to that Jae nodded silently with an enigmatic look on his face. Despite the steel- and electric-types sharing a common weakness to ground-type attacks, there were numerous ways to circumvent such attacks completely. Fire-based attacks, on the other hand, were indeed more difficult to handle, though he knew his team was as well-prepared as they could be.

He gave a little laugh as Vexel pointed out his language error. “That is true… I’ll fix that: first impression as a gym leader then,” he corrected himself. And when Vexel revealed that he intended to challenge the Wisteria Gym next, he raised an eyebrow, a little surprised by Vexel’s decision. Granted, there was no fixed order in which one had to challenge all the various gyms, though the Wisteria Gym was traditionally the last port of call. But come to think of it, it made sense, since Vexel’s last stop would likely be the Hibiscus Gym due to the type disadvantage he had. “In this case I wish you all the best for your next battle in advance. Though that feels a little odd since we haven’t even started this one,” he said. “Maybe after that, if you have some free time, we could have the follow-up interview then.” He left that option open, not requiring Vexel to commit to it so that they could adjust the plans based on how things turned out.

“We can dance if you want to.” There was a subtle reference to the lyrics of a rather old song there, and Jae wondered if Vexel would catch it. Rising from his seat, Jae moved in time with the music as he moonwalked smoothly towards the dance floor. Still facing Vexel, he extended an arm towards his challenger, beckoning him to follow.

“All right then. Let’s turn up the heat tonight!” Jae said to Vexel. His wireless earpiece picked up his voice as well, a cue to his technical team to prepare for the upcoming battle.

“Way ahead of you, boss. We’ve changed things up a little for our fire-loving friend tonight,” Emery, the announcer, replied without missing a beat, before her voice came on through the loudspeakers. "Ladies and gentlemen, we ask you please to clear the floor: a gym battle is about to commence! I repeat. Ladies and gentlemen, we ask you please to clear the floor, a gym battle is about to commence!"

The music changed immediately; Vexel would recognize it as the battle theme that played right before Adrian’s battle the other day. As the crowd parted, the four lights that marked the corners of the stage came on, but this time round they were a fiery orange in colour, a subtle nod to Vexel’s preferred Pokémon type. From each of the lights, two rows of dark red LED lights radiated outwards, forming the square outline of the arena. More lights marked out the positions for Vexel and Jae, flashing in sync to the thumping music.

”Please, take your position on stage,” Jae invited as he indicated the Challenger’s Box with a little flourish, before he moved to his own spot on stage.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Ironwood Gym!” Emery declared to thunderous applause and cheers from the crowd. Gym battles did not happen every night, and they were looking forward to an exciting and intense battle.

Jae’s spotlight came on, a shaft of light in the middle of the dark arena. "G'd evening, ladies and gentlemen” he began. His voice was clear and loud, resonating throughout the interior of the gym, and his slight accent added a touch of character and charm to his voice. “Tonight we have a challenger. Please put your hands together for… Vexel Mitore!”

A second spotlight came on, bringing to the audience’s attention the man standing in the Challenger’s Box. The audience erupted into cheers and applause again, and Jae paused for a while before he continued. "This will be a three-on-three single battle. The first to knock out all three of the opponent's Pokémon is the winner. You may pick your Pokémon first. Choose wisely, for I'll be making the first move."

Vex knew he was one of very few people who'd keep 'gym secrets' to himself. But he'd been raised to keep secrets. Everyone knew the Blackthorn Gym Leader was closely associated with the Dragon's Den, but very few knew more than that. And Vex wasn't going to be the one to reveal anything about it. he nodded to the thanks but otherwise didn't say anything more. He'd keep whatever secrets he felt were necessary to keep and that was that.

He made a show of considering Jae's correction to his statement about first impressions. Really, he'd been picking on the gym leader simply because he could. "Yes, that works. And don't worry. My first impression of the gym was a good one. I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like as a part of it rather than just a spectator." Really, the gym set-up was so much more advanced that what they'd had in Johto. It was impressive. Vex wondered if he'd be allowed to make some changes to the Blackthorn Gym when he eventually took over. He noticed the look he got when he'd mentioned taking on the Wisteria Gym next but said nothing of it. "Thanks, though you could always have waited until after I'd won my Vinyl Badge to wish me luck." He said, amused at being wished luck at the next gym when he hadn't yet defeated the one he was currently standing in. Of course, he would win the Vinyl Badge eventually. Maybe it wouldn't be today but he wasn't leaving Ironwood City without it. "Yeah, that'd probably work out just fine." It'd be a bit out of the way since he'd planned to travel from Wisteria straight to to Hinoki (or vice versa) but he could take a time out to stop into Ironwood City for another interview.

There was a touch of familiarity to the DJ's words but Vex couldn't quite place it. Instead, he rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Sorry to disappoint but I don't dance." Which was a lie. He danced quite well, thank you very much; he just didn't want to. The comment about turning up the heat earned a flash of a smile from Vex. "Isn't that supposed to be my line? I'm the fire specialist after all." He commented, though it became clear a moment later that had been some sort of verbal signal as the announcer's voice came over the system to clear the dance floor for the battle. He noted the different color of the lights with a smirk and a nod. He confidently stepped into the challenger's box and reached for a pokeball at his belt. He knew exactly which of his pokemon he wanted to use first.

As the spotlight shone on him, Vex stood with his arms crossed, pokeball in hand. He was no longer the casual and relaxed friend the DJ had interviews but a confident and determined gym challenger. The sound of the crowd suggested there were enough people from Johto and Kanto (or who'd heard his radio interview) out there who recognized him, or at least his name, to know that the gym was being challenged by a Johto Gym Leader's son. He spied a group to the left of the gym leader whispering to their tablemates. Word that this was no ordinary gym challenger would spread through the crowd like wildfire. Vex pushed the thought aside and focused on the task ahead of him. He Uncrossed his arms and held up his chosen pokeball, a sticker that looked a lot like the rising badge he had pinned to the inside of his lapel adorning the red portion of it. "Toura, let's show them what we can do." A flash of crimson light faded to reveal a Salandit. She was, perhaps, not the most showy or intimidating of his pokemon, but he wasn't here to put on a show for the crowd.

“And our challenger sends out… a Salandit!” Emery’s voice was almost drowned out by the cheers from the crowd. Jae could not help but smile; that was a brilliant choice of a Pokémon for this gym battle. “Very, very smart, Vexel,” he admitted somewhat begrudgingly, surprised by how well-prepared his opponent was. Not only were Salandits able to threaten his steel-types with fiery attacks, there was even a subspecies that possessed a corrosive poison strong enough to melt through metal.

“In this case, you’ve made my decision quite a lot simpler.” Without hesitation he selected one of the Pokéballs at his belt, lobbing it high into the air using his signature submarine pitch. At the apex of its trajectory the Pokéball opened, releasing a fearsome Zangoose who landed solidly on the arena floor, superheroine-style. Slowly, Truedy looked up and sized up her opponent with narrowed eyes. Her mouth twisted into an arrogant snarl; she hadn’t faced off a Saladit before, but there had to be a reason why Jae had chosen her to lead the battle instead of his usual choice, Suga.

“Let’s start things off in style. Swords Dance!” Already raring to go, the Zangoose swiped her claws against the ground even before Jae finished his sentence, throwing up a shower of sparks in a beautiful yet terrifying display of power. Her wicked claws glowed and seemingly lengthened as she focused her energy and prepared for Jae’s next command.

Jae sent out Truedy!

Vex wasn't sure what the crowd was so excited about but they cheered at the appearance of his Salandit. Maybe it was simply because the poisonous little fire lizards were rare in Eden? Whatever the reason, the cheers made Toura hiss and flatten the little spines at the base of her neck as she glared out at the gathering of people. "Focus. Don't pay attention to the crowd." Vex ordered and she snapped her attention back to the gym leader. But it wasn't the man who held her attention but the ball in his hand, which arched up into the air and released a Zangoose onto the field.

Vex nodded and mentally went over what little he knew about his normal type opponent. All normal types were vulnerable to fighting type moves but immune to ghost type moves. All other types of move did normal damage. Zangoose in particular were known for fighting with Seviper and most had a natural immunity to poison. But there were some that could be poisoned but gained boosted attack power from it. Clearly he wasn't going to be trying very hard to poison this opponent. The call for Swords Dance was a smart move but it gave Vex time to do some planning and preparing of his own rather than pushing him toward attacking. Toura was edging forward, hissing softly as she prepared to attack. "Hold back a moment, Toura. Think and plan before you rush in." She practically froze in place as her trainer's words hit but he was right. She couldn't just rush in. She had to plan, she had to plot and be cunning. She would win this by being smarter than her opponent.

Nasty Plot… was it a tit-for-tat response to Truedy’s Swords Dance? Whatever the case was, it was a tactically sound move that Jae could find no fault with. Now the ball was back in Jae’s court. He could make the first strike, or he could up the stakes further and test Vexel’s reaction.

“I can do this all night, you know,” Jae mused aloud, to which the Zangoose snarled in displeasure. She would rather wade into combat now, rather than play mind games. But she knew very well that Jae always had a plan, one that would help them seize victory eventually. And so with a low growl, she relented; she would not let a moment of impatience cost them the battle.

“Hone Claws!” At Jae’s command, Truedy sharpened her claws against each other menacingly and settled into a low stance, ready to leap at her opponent.

Jae words made Vex smirk. Sure, they could stand there and raise and lower stats all night long. But eventually one of them would have to make the first move. "But that would disappoint the crowd. They aren't here to watch two pokemon stand around and stare at each other." But that didn't mean he was going to be the one to make that first move. Not yet at least. He knew he was playing a dangerous game, allowing his opponent to boost their stats with no way to counter it. Toura was patient. Watching her opponent while also keeping an eye on her trainer. She could tell the Zangoose was eager to close in and fight. It didn't like being told to stand back and just be showy. Perhaps she could use that to her advantage...

Vex noticed this too and made a small gesture with his hand. "You know what to do." The Salandit blinked and started scampering this way and that, circling the arena as if taunting the Zangoose. The crowd might only see the toxic lizard trying to bait the Zangoose into attacking her, but the very observant would note the small flames that flared up along the markings on her back. It wouldn't be long before a strangely sweet scent started to fill the arena, seemingly trailing after the scampering Salandit as she continued to circle her opponent, hissing temptingly but always keeping a distance between them. She wasn't dumb enough to get within striking range on purpose, thank you very much. If the Zangoose wanted to attack, it'd have to come to her to do it.

“Neither are we,” Jae agreed, and as he spoke he could sense the Zangoose’s mounting excitement. Out of the corner of his eye he could see her tracking the Salandit’s movement as the toxic lizard Pokémon danced outside of Truedy’s reach, as though goading her into an attack. Truedy scowled. She clearly did not like her opponent’s attitude and wasn’t going to hide her displeasure.

“Don’t get worked up yet, Truedy,” the gym trainer cautioned. While Truedy was a ferocious and instinctive battler, her emotions could sometimes be her own undoing. Against a wily opponent like the Salandit, Jae really would need her to focus. But complicating the matter was a sweet smell that was now spreading rapidly through the arena. Truedy’s nose twitched as she picked up the scent, like a predator that had just detected a potential prey.

Her jaws opened in a vicious snarl. The hunt was on.

Her senses completely fixated on the Salandit, she dashed forwards, oblivious to her trainer’s orders. But a second, sharper command got through to her as she briefly snapped out of her berzerker's rage. “Truedy, Crush Claw!”

Closing rapidly in, the Zangoose let loose a mighty battle cry as she swiped viciously at her target. This Salandit was going down.

Truedy's evasion fell!

Truedy used CRUSH CLAW!

Toura only gave a hissing laugh at the scowl sent her way. She was hardly going to feel sorry for the Zangoose, forced to stand there and wait, unable to attack. She smirked as the Zangoose reacted to her attack. There were very few pokemon who could resist breathing in the sweet scent and many would get distracted every time it drifted past their nose. It made them easier to hit.

As the Zangoose surged forward, Toura scampered this way and that hoping to avoid the swiping claws. She wasn't quite fast enough and one of the swipes sent her tumbling. She blinked, dazed by the blow and feeling the sting of a deep gash along her side. She shook her head and hissing unhappily at her opponent. Though he didn't show it outwardly, Vex was concerned for his pokemon; with the Zangoose's boosted stats, that hit had done some serious damage. "Toura, show them your firepower. Use Flamethrower." Vex's command was firm, loud enough to be heard over the crowd that was cheering again now that the first move had been made. The low flames that had been flickering along the markings on her back flared up as Toura turned on her opponent. Mouth wide, she shot a jet of flame at the Zangoose. With any luck, maybe she'd burn her opponent.

Toura used Flamethrower!

(For some reason the last two time you've tagged me I haven't gotten an alert for this. Dunno what's going on and I tend to check the site often enough I'm not likely to miss a post from you, but just wanted to let you know. Might want to keep an eye out and make sure you're getting all your alerts, lol.)
