Jace was seriously starting to rethink his plan of traveling to Wisteria Town for the Halloween Festival on foot. The deeper her got into the Amaranth Forest, the more certain he was that something was going to happen. He'd been lucky so far and had only encountered a few friendly pokemon that more or less left him alone. But as it got later, things started getting a bit spookier and he felt a sense of impending danger with every step he took.

He knew he was maybe being over-dramatic but he still couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen. Not even Saia's presence in the air above him was enough to calm his nerves. He just needed to get out of this forest and into town as soon as possible. He'd probably feel better with building's surrounding him rather than trees. Or at least he hoped so.

Spritzee eyed Jaisen as he walked across the forest floor. Unbeknownst to the worried trainer, he had accidentally wandered in Spritzee's hunting ground. Hidden in the hollows of logs, large green shrubbery and high up on tree branches were the skeletal remains of Spritzee's unsuspecting victims. Each of the corpses, human and pokemon alike, were picked clean of all their flesh. Now they were nothing but a collection of sun-bleached bones, withering away as time went own without them. The pretty pink bird blinked its round ruby eyes and analyzed the human walking bellow. He noted that the human had some pokeballs attached to their belt... So they were a trainer. Spritzee would have to be careful and make sure that the trainer didn't have enough time to use one to fight. It was no matter, as spritzee was already a master of trickery and deception.

Spritzee hoped off his perch and took flight, delicately flapping his wings and fluttering above the trainer. Carefully, he emitted a pleasant scent of roses and daffodils, the calming fragrance wafting down towards the trainer. Then, we flew in front of the trainer, and gave a friendly chirp as an innocent hello. Gently, Spritzee landed on a low tree branch that was tall enough to be just over the human's head. After getting a good grip on the branch, he opened his beak and began to sing. A beautiful, soft pitched melody echoed through the quiet forest (probably because this section was devoid of any other life). As he sang his winsome tune, Spritzee batted his eyelashes at Jaisen, hoping to lure him closer.

It took Jace a moment to realize that the forest was quiet. Eerily so, in fact. Which usually meant that something was prowling around that even the night birds and insects feared. He paused and looked around for signs of movement among the trees. A fluttering sound made him turn and he caught sight of a Sprtizee. They were supposed to be gentle things that fancy ladies would carry around in place of using perfume if he remembered correctly. They were also a fairy type so he hoped this one was just passing through and didn't want to battle. He didn't have any pokemon that would be effective against them and two out of his group would be at a severe disadvantage since they were dragon types.

His plan was to just ignore the Spritzee and hope it moved on, leaving him to continue on his way undisturbed. Except the Spritzee apparently had other ideas, landing in a branch and wafting an, admittedly, rather pleasant floral scent toward him as it started to sing. Still, there was no reason for Jace to stick around. Except that another flutter of wings overhead made him look up. It was Just Saia but apparently she had seen or heard something she didn't like and was swooping down toward the Spritzee with a glare. She placed herself between the wild pokemon and Jace, emitting supersonic waves from her large ears to, hopefully, disorient the wild pokemon.

Saia used Supersonic!

Spritzee was still singing her beautiful melody as the dragon-type descended from the trees and got between Spritzee and his next meal. The perfume pokemon narrowed her eyes at the winged creature in disgust. He had always despised dragon types like most pure fairy types did, as they were natural enemies since the dawn of time. Had his new rival seen something that had given away Spritzee's intentions, or was its aggression part of its violent, primitive nature? Before he could contemplate it any further, she noticed that the noibat started to move.

Instinctively, he used his feet to launch himself up into the air in order to avoid any oncoming attack. With a flap of his pristine, glossy wings, Spritzee soared up to the canopy of the trees, preemptively dodging the sound waves that noibat fired off. He scoffed, of course the dragon would go for such a rudimentary tactic. Spritzee, as a fairy type, was naturally more intelligent than the noibat's kind, so he knew he could easily outsmart the stupid thing.

Instead of attacking, he released a high pitched cry of pain and fear. "P-p-please! Stop hurting me!!!" Spritzee screamed, hoping the tone of his voice would create some empathy from the filthy dragon-type's trainer. Ripping the boy's guts out would be so much easier if the noibat was out of the way (although Spritzee had no doubt that he could effortlessly defeat the pokemon, he just wanted to save some time).

"Just leave me alone!
" Spritzee continued, feigning terror as he soared in a semi-circle around the noibat and behind its trainer.

Jace, unsure of what had gotten into Saia to make her blindly attack another pokemon, could do little more than stare as the Noibat chased after the Spritzee. He briefly lost sight of them as they circled around him. The Spritzee sounded terrified but it also sounded...hurt? Saia hadn't physically done anything to the strange fairy type. Supersonic didn't cause physical pain. So what was going on? "Saia! Focus." He received and answering squeak and turned to see Saia come from behind a tree to face the Spritzee again. She did not, however, rush in to attack without direction and Jace breathed a small sigh of relief. The Noibat could get pretty worked up but she still listened to him. "That's better." He said, eyeing the Sprtizee that had somehow gotten between him and Saia. It hadn't attacked back but it was clear Saia wasn't going to just leave it alone. Jace felt a little bad but battling wild pokemon was part of how he needed to make his own team stronger.

Saia was at a disadvantage but she was a spunky little bat and he had backups...just in case. "Alright, sorry little friend but we're going to battle you. Saia, use Super Fang." The Noibat gleefully swooped forward, mouth open and fangs coated in a white glow. Jace hoped it would work because if he could significantly cut the Spritzee's health with one hit he'd feel a little better about Saia's chances of getting out of this while still being able to battle.

When the human made it known that he wasn't going to control his brutish pokemon, Spritzee sent him a look of pure disgust. Spritzee should've known that any trainer willing to use dragon type pokemon must be as equally evil and vile. It would be no matter though, the dragon type would soon learn it bit off more than it could chew when it decided to come after Spritzee. The fairy type merely grinned wickedly as the trainer gave the winged rat orders to attack her. He made no move to dodge the noibat's charge, allowing him to drive its fangs into one of Spritzee's pink wings.

Wasting no time, Spritzee ignored the pain radiating from her limb as the noibat chomped down. Before the dragon type could even dislodge its teeth from Spritzee's body, the perfume pokemon quickly turned his head to give him a kiss. With the pokemon in such close quarters, it would be very unlikely that Saia would be able to avoid Spritzee's super effective draining kiss.

Saia didn't think twice about biting down as soon as she had the Spritzee within reach. What she didn't count on, was her proximity to her opponent being used against her. She felt the little peck and immediately felt her energy leaving her body at a rapid rate. With a screech, she released her hold on the Spritzee and retreated a short distance away glaring daggers at the fairy type.

Jace watched Saia closely. The Noibat was tough but against a fairy type she basically stood no chance at all. Still, she wanted this battle and he wouldn't recall her until she was ready to be recalled. "Air Cutter." He called and the Noibat gave a massive flap of her wings and sent a razor sharp blade of air sailing toward the Spritzee.

(No worries! If you need to take a couple extra days to reply I don't mind waiting. Feel better soon. <3

Also, equal apologies for the shortness of this post, lol. But battle threads tend toward the short side anyway. =))

As Spritzee kissed the noibat, he could feel the wound he had taken from the super fang being negated. The dragon type flew off, but the damage had already been done. Spritzee had sucked the enough life out of the noibat to restore almost all of his health. This battle was going very well.

His enemy fired off an air cutter attack, sending a razor-edged blast of wind straight at Spritzee. It struck Spritzee directly in the face, sending her spiraling back through the air. The relatively bulky pokemon quickly used his wings to right himself however, and summoned a fairy wind attack in response. Flapping his wings to generate a breeze, the perfume pokemon emitted a floral, pleasant and distinctly fairy fragrance to be carried along with it. The super effective move blasted through the tress and flew directly towards the Noibat.

Saia was preparing to launch another attack at Jace's command but she would never get the chance to do so. The Spritzee retaliated with another fairy type attack and the Noibat was done for. As she fell, jace raised her pokeball and recalled her before she could hit the ground. "Such a stubborn brat." He commented, mentally going through his pokemon to figure out who to use next. The Spritzee probably wouldn't let him just walk away.

Luckily, Jace didn't have too many dragon types so he had plenty of options. Unluckily, he didn't have any pokemon with moves that would be particularly effective against a fairy type. Even so, he had to make a choice and he grabbed the first pokeball that came to mind. He gave the pokeball a tap and a snow white Vulpix appeared on the ground between him and the Spritzee. And as soon as the Vulpix's paws hit the ground, hail started to form in the air around them, swirling every which way and striking everything in it's path. "Alright Boreas, use Powder Snow." Maybe if they could freeze the Spritzee they could just leave. Maybe. If they were lucky. The Vulpix bared his teeth at the fluffy pink bird and lowered the temperature around his body before sending a gust of ice cold wind toward his opponent.

Seeing the noibat go down gave Spritzee a massive amount of joy. Nothing made her more happy than seeing a dragon type in such pain. Just before it was recalled into its pokeball, Spritzee jeered at it to rub some salt in the wounds. Unluckily for Spritzee, the noibat was not the human's only pokemon, and soon another opponent was in its place.

The small fox sprayed a cold mist at Spritzee, the freezing temperatures dealing a great amount of pain to the fairy type. For a moment he thought it was freeze him, but the sensation soon passed and his body warmed up again. In response, Spritzee quickly blew a sweet kiss at the snowy white vulpix. A pale pink fairy aura formed the shape of a pair of flips, and flew through the air towards her ice type opponent. If the attack landed, the pokemon would be sent into a confused state.

The Spritzee was a tough opponent. It took the attack but was still able to keep going. Jace was unsure how much longer he wanted to keep standing around and battling when he could be in town already and not stuck in the woods battling against a pokemon he hadn't even wanted to battle in the first place.

Still, Here he was and he needed to do something and quick. of course, in his momentary distraction, he hadn't realized the Spritzee was preparing an attack until it was too late. Boreas, however, was quite capable of taking care of himself when he had to. He formed several shards of ice around his body and sent them sailing right into the heart of the Sweet Kiss, dispersing the power and protecting himself from it's effects. And, with any luck, he might actually hit the Spritzee too! Of course, his natural ability to create a miniature hailstorm during battles was equally as useful as hail pelted down from above, dealing damage to any pokemon that wasn't an ice type.

Boreas used Ice Shard!

It began to Hail! 1/5

(Apparently I am super bad at remembering what abilities I've given my pokemon, lol. I totally forgot that Jace's vulpix knows Snow Warning. Oopsie. We'll just pretend it was a delayed reaction or something. Or we could both go back and edit our previous posts to account for the hail. I'll leave it up to you, lol. xD)
