Strolling down the sea-cliff path, her hands casually clasped behind her with the few strands of light blonde hair that had fallen from her loose ponytail wisping into her face, was Lainey. She was making an effort not to fall off of this cliff, despite being rather clumsy--her hightops were placed carefully on the ground, so she could peer over the edge without falling. It was a long way down... a bit scary, but she happened to like it. The misty sea air was refreshing, since she’d lived close to the water back home it felt... Homey. It reminded her of Johto just the tiniest bit.

She had Eve in her pokeball for now, not feeling much like having to track down the excitable Eevee--besides, this close to the cliff, it could be dangerous! She didn’t want to take risks of Eve growing too excited and running off. She peeked over the edge of the cliff again, taking in a breath of air before moving back away from the cliff. She was close to a small forest now--not too far outside of Primrose Town, since she wanted to stay close to the quaint town until she found Oliver--and she peeked into the wooded area, curious. She’d stocked up on pokeballs, at least. ”Maybe I should try my luck with a Pokemon...” she thought to herself, some small wisps of blonde hair falling nervously into her eyes.

She’d like to have a new edition to her team--and without Oliver around, she’d actually get a chance to maybe catch one. That, or train up Eve--she needed to do something, at least, and Eve would enjoy a chance to stretch. For now, though, the poor trainer was torn--she was just so timid these days, and battling Pokemon always made her nervous! She fidgeted with Eve’s pokeball in her hands, facing the quiet forest. That is, until she heard the quiet cry of some kind of Pokemon. Her own nerves forgotten, Lainey began to carefully step into the underbrush--what if a Pokemon needed her help?

What a mess! he thought to himself, attempting to wiggle free from the prickly bush branches and leaves. This was not at all what he had planned. It was mating season! He was supposed to be off getting swept away by the breeze and lovely female Cottonee. Instead, a harsh gust of wind had blown him off course and face first into the bushes. Now, the prickly branches clutched at his body as if they were tiny little fingertips.

He let out a cry of despair. Without help, he would be stuck here until the next big breeze came though, and who knew when that would be! It hasn't been very windy lately at all. What would he do? Someone had to be nearby that could help him. He had to try. The branches were making him uncomfortable. He let out another cry for help. Oh, what am I going to do?

At long last, a strong gust of wind blew through and Cottonee was able to free himself from the bush. The wind carried him up into the air and away he went!

The wild Cottonee fled!
